Gotham could end up being a decent show.

I have my doubts.

Smallville got around a Superman who wasn’t for years but it didn’t take itself so seriously and honestly CW audiences are a lot more forgiving than most. ¬†I fell out of love with that show after Clark lost his powers for the tenth time.

I guess you have to ask yourself how long you think you can watch Jim Gordon fail at his job? ¬†Because that’s what this show is ultimately about.

As imperfect as it may be, I think Arrow has come closest to getting it right and I’m slightly optimistic about the Flash series coming up. Again both of these shows handle themselves as more soap-operatic, if that’s even a term, where there is a little more gravity given to things than they deserve but it helps to temper the outrageousness of a world of superheroes and costumed villains.
