There are a few points in Bloodborne when you can’t access a lamp because there is an enemy guarding it, I completely understand that. There is one time though when it looks like the bad guys just straight up smash one and you can never use it again. You’d think they’d catch on after random assholes stop showing up to kill everyone in the room. That’s all I’m tryin’ to say.
