DC comics is retooling their characters yet again and what better time than to totally throw the iconic look of your characters directly in the garbage. Superman’s new costume is literally jeans and a t-shirt and Batman is apparently going to become a cross between Iron Man and Bugs Bunny. Wonder Woman’s new costume is not that bad accept for the stupid arm blades.
Listen, I’m not against toying with crazy costumes and ideas in one shots or stand alone story arcs but if these are going to be the official looks of these characters then what in the hell are they thinking? I like change, I’m a huge fan of it, but there’s something to be said for having an iconic design. There’s a reason these characters have only gone through slight variations over the years. I don’t know how the new Ghostbusters movies are going to shake out but I can tell you this, they’ll probably be wearing tan jumpsuits.
