The world lost a couple of greats this week. As the world mourns for a legendary actor, we lost a member of our family. Our wonderful little dog Genevieve passed away after nearly fifteen years and it has broken our hearts. It may or may not surprise you to know that Gilbert, the usual dog in this strip, was originally modeled after Genevieve. I’ll never forget the first time I met her because it was the first time I went to my, then not even girlfriend’s apartment for dinner. She came running up to me barking her head off and trying to seem like a total hard ass, but by the end of the night we were on the couch snuggled up for what would be the first of many petting sessions. That girl, who’s apartment I went to, eventually became my wife and we had a daughter, all under the ever vigilant eye of Genevieve. She protected us while we slept and kept us smiling while we were awake. Wednesday she wanted to go outside, just like any other day, she laid down in the grass and passed quietly away. My strongest hope is that she felt no pain at the end. We love and miss you Genevieve, you will forever be in our hearts
